Aidhmeanna agus eiteas na Scoile

Is í príomhaidhm Choláiste Feirste an réimse is leithne iar-bhunoideachais trí mheán na Gaeilge a sholáthar go dtí an caighdeán is airde.  Is aidhm linn oideachas a chur ar fáil a thabharfaidh dár gcuid daltaí na scileanna sóisialta, intleachtúla agus teicniúla a chuideoidh leo bheith ina ndaoine fásta iomlána agus geanúla. Cuirtear béim ar an scoil mar phobal.  De bhrí go bhfuil an scoil s’againn beag, cruthaítear inti atmaisféar cairdiúil geanúil a chuidíonn lenár gcuid daltaí forbairt go hacadúil agus go sóisialta i dtimpeallacht thaitneamhach spreagúil. 

 

Tá an Ghaeilge lárnach i sainmheon na scoile.  Spreagaimid ár gcuid daltaí le haithint gur oidhreacht bheo luachmhar iad a dteanga agus a gcultúr as a dtig leo pléisiúr agus sásamh a bhaint; agus cothaímid eolas, caoinfhulaingt agus meas iontu i leith thraidisiúin, dhearcadh agus stíleanna beatha daoine eile.

 

Is scoil ilchumais, ilchreidmheach, chomhoideachais í Coláiste Feirste agus, mar sin de, cothaítear inti toilteanas don éagsúlacht agus tuiscint don athrú.

 

School Aims and ethos

The primary aim of Coláiste Feirste is to provide post primary education through the medium of the Irish language to the highest standard possible.  We aim to provide our pupils with the social, intellectual and technical skills which will enable them to become fulfilled and caring adults. We aim to provide a friendly and caring atmosphere where our pupils can grow academically and socially in an enjoyable and stimulating environment. 

 

The Irish language is central to the ethos of the school.  We encourage our pupils to see their language and culture as a valuable and living inheritance from which they can derive pleasure and satisfaction, while at the same time making them aware, tolerant and appreciative of other traditions, views and lifestyles. 

 

We are a non-denominational, all-ability, co-educational school and as such we encourage a willingness for diversity and an understanding of change.
